This is a very delicate issue. I am not even sure whether
I am eligible to vote. Has voting process started? Who
are the nominees?

Best,

PS : Please pm me about some private engines
that I want to have and test. LOL.
I dont see why you wouldnt be eligible to vote..You are kidding about the private engines right??

Best,

PS : I predicted that you will say that
ECE 0.2.1 plays smoothly to that I agree too. LOL.
My fault, it was a spelling mistake, I am talking about Geko 0.4.3..I have 24 games with the engine and no losses due to bugs. Being weak isnt a bug you know, it plays fast and doesnt reach good depths though.. Here is a sample game.. By the way, I checked on Cheops, it plays fine here... Also I just remembered something, if you assigned a GUI book for Geko, it plays illegal moves. No book, geko plays fine.

Edit : no book for Cheops either..

Best,
I think most of the engine problems are system specific, I have no problems here with either of those engines. Here is list # 24, new to the list is Taktix 2.23x, it doesnt have any other problems other than time losses under incremental time controls. It plays fine in 40/40.

Update 24, Tony's no play list

AKIBA 0.0 (version number not known) (moves too slow and loses on time)
Alice 0.35?? (frequent time losses, could be a cygwin problem)
Animats Chess 1.1.1.1 (not suitable for tournaments)
Apilchess 1.05 rev.1b (eternal pondering)
Arics 0.95 (does not move)
Bachess 1.3 (always runs out of time)
Babychess 11.1 (frequent crashes, illegal moves etc) Later versions not available..
Blitzer 2.0 (unexplainable time losses)
Brama 051204 (time losses)
Crux 5.0m (crashes about 10% of the time, decently strong engine)
Dendron 0.42 (frequent illegal moves)
El-Turco 0.93 (crashes)
Fianchetto (doesnt move in some games)
iChess(I just cant get it to work)
Jaksah 1.01 (time losses)
Joanna 2002 1.0
Joana DC by Juan Pablo Menoza (crashes, and subsequent time losses)
Kace 0.8.1 (time losses)
Knightmare BP (does not follow 3/0 or 1/1 time controls)
Lamosca 0.10 (time losses)
MFchess 1.1 (time losses)
Mooboo 0.4e (illegal moves, time losses)
Muriel aka KDL chess 0.71 (time losses, could be hardware specific as others arent having problems)
NSVchess 0.14 (illegal move during compatibility test)
Pulchess 0.2i (doesnt follow any time controls)
Sharpchess2 2.52 (time losses)
Simontacchi 1.8 decepticon (time losses)
Taktix 2.23 x (time losses, fine in you are using tournament time controls)
Talvemanni 0.0.1 (does not follow any of the time controls xm+1sec, game in x or 40 moves in Xminutes)
Trynyty 1.0 (bugs that I am scared to explain)
Youk 1.05 (during compatibility test it resigned against me in a fairly equal position)
Zchess 2 from Eamonn Ramsay (loses on time, 100% of the time)
Zephyr 0.61 (time losses)

Taktix plays fine with incremental time controls Tony,no problems whatever,I am talking about long time controls though....
_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

I contacted the author of the program since he is still around. Here is his reply...
Matthias Gemuh wrote:Hi Tony,
BigLion, BigLion80 and Taktix may not be suitable for 1+1.
ArcBishop80 manages 1+1 better.
Best,
Matthias.
After further communication I realized that even though Archbishop wont lose on time it isnt as strong as biglion or taktix. You do have to realize that 1min+1sec isnt a long time.

Another engine added to the list, the new entry is Testina, it just loses on time about 15% of the time.

TC was 1+1.

Yes. Longest game was around 40 moves, but
Cassandre lost the most games before the move 20.

Best,
I adjusted the Cassandre's time-allocation.

Thx, Jim.

I'll include your build in my tournaments.

I have another question:

I want to test 64-bit engines, windows and linux ones.

Which linux 64-bit operating system is easy to use
and install for this purpose?

Best to you,
