WCCC_2008: last round

What is happening on JUNIOR-RYBKA? Playchess.com is showing it as finished after 13 moves. Presumably not 'draw agreed' as I don't think this is allowed.

Are you kidding ... Rybka team would never go for a quick draw, especially if they have nothing to lose. Most likely it is internet problems that have been severely testing both hardware and people in China.

13 moves? Right now 22 moves have been played..still going on.

Thanks - according to FRITZ10 here, it looks pretty even.

Actually, Rybka could lose against Junior.

An accurate evaluation that considers not only the position on the board but also the names of the players.

I meant that Junior reached a winning position but blundered to a draw.

Yes, Junior had a +3.6 evaluation and thought it was completely winning. Unfortunately for Junior, Rybka had seen far deeper and secured a draw with a spectacular rook sac that forced a perpetual.

Junior's play was not very impressive after it had a totally winning position. You must give the Junior team credit for preparing an excellent opening that caught Rybka with a good shot. Getting a technically won position and winning it are two different things.
