Unfortunate for Rybka, but the TD's decision is quite correct.

I doubt it is. Rybka beeing +5.50 in its favour and losing the game on crash is ridicilous.

So now some unfortunate much weaker engines get penalized by having to face Rybka ?

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

If the game was unable to be resumed because Rybka operator got the error in his engine file, and was forced to resign the game, why not play the game from the beginning, instead of awarding the losing side by giving it a win... is totally uncalled for.

There are these called "rules" in chess... as a matter of fact I have even heard of them in other sports.

While you might not like them, they do exist.
I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

It seems that CCT11 event is not stable and should never have been run in the 1st place, if such games can occure where the losing side should be awarded a win because of engine error or crash on the benefit of another engine..... It happened in previous event, and it still happens.
Should not the TD make sure such thing no longer occurs, as he is the one responsible, that everything runs smoothly ?
Such results give wrong impressions to the audience.

How does an engine crash make the CCT11 event unstable?
