this is most likely a bad line in the HS-Remis book for ChessGUI. The engines will have come out of book after move 12. Although the game may be in the database, it is weeded out automatically and not included in the rating calculations.
If it was one of my games, I would normally have picked it up and replayed it, but when you're checking over 500 games each week, it's easy to miss one now and then.
Cheers,
Graham.

It was a bad line in the HS-10moves.abk book for Arena.

More clearly a stupid opening line from an overadvertised opening book....AdminX wrote:Clearly a glitch in the system ...

No offense taken. No opening book is perfect, but Harry's are pretty good. I prefer them to others.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:More clearly a stupid opening line from an overadvertised opening book....AdminX wrote:Clearly a glitch in the system ...

Many thanks for your prompt reply. Can we talk about a bad book line if the book contains moves that even a 400 Elo-rated player would never play in his life. If this relates to one particular move that's would be ok, but seven almost incredible moves in a game of only 13 moves??
Kind regards
Kurt

Exactly my point....and we're talking about early opening line moves,not a 80 halfmoves opening line....Kurt Utzinger wrote:Hi GrahamGraham Banks wrote:Hi Kurt,Kurt Utzinger wrote:Dear Chessfriends

Re: CCRL 40/40 - A most curious game
If you have Arena on your computer, see if you can replicate the game using the book in question. I can't do this because I don't have Arena installed. However, you can see from the full pgn that I gave that the first ten opening moves for each side were book moves.Kurt Utzinger wrote: Hi Graham

With all due respect Wael, I don't think that this should be turned into another dig at Harry. You are both my friends. Harry deserves better appreciation for his efforts to our community.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:Exactly my point....and we're talking about early opening line moves, not a 80 halfmoves opening line....Kurt Utzinger wrote: Hi Graham
