yes, Fritz and Hiarcs playing on Core2Duos...everyone else on 4 or more cores
certainly a big disadvantage
i think quite a few engines are operators who volunteered their time and simply brought their best PC with them

i hope all realize it's just a fun tournament...not an indication of relative playing strength

i certainly appreciate the time and effort the organizers have contributed to make it happen
i'd love to see them do it twice a year, it's been a lot of fun

to see the games live and kibitzer chat (it's lots of fun IMO)

double click on the Thuringen broadcasts...
double click on the games(s) you want to see...

the playchess is software is excellent
yesterday i was watching 5 games simultaneoulsy
and you can add Fritz 6 to any game to get a quick analysis of the position

I assume from looking at the hardware/engine pairings that these programs are not being run with the sanction of the engine authors. Instead, it is just a few computer chess fans getting together and competing using engines they either own or downloaded. Is this correct?

Timo Klaustermeyer asked for my permission to operate Critter at the tournament. I even sent him a new (unpublished) version of the engine.
