Dann told me that he wasn't prepared to run after seeing the abuse that I'd had to put up with. Of course, either of them could well change their minds.

Hi Swami,

criticism is fine as I indicated, but abuse and personal attacks should not be tolerated towards anybody. Just my opinion though.

Cheers,
Graham.
There were several posts which are personal attacks on previous term moderators - Bob Hyatt had been attacked by OP when Bob was a mod. But I had never seen him deleting posts which were against him. Rather, I saw number of people coming in to support Bob.

Yesterday, Gerold Daniels had attempted a diversion and thrown in a personal attack at me, I never deleted it and certainly never replied to him.

Best,
Swami
You swing at me i swing back.

I ask you if you were going to run for mod in here again.
I don't think i heard an ans.

Best
Gerold.

P.S. You got my vote.
P.S.2. Good to have you back home. :)
Hi Gerold,

Right now, I don't feel I'm going to take up another term of moderation.

Too busy with more important things in life. I'm too young and nearly 1/2 or 1/3rd the age of many people around in here. :)

I hope Bob Hyatt, Steve B and Dann Corbit takes up.
I know Bob and Steve will. Dann i am not sure he will run. They would make a good team.

Best,
Gerold.
Steve declined already.

there was a time when Dr. Hyatt banned me for using "text talk" here.
( that was years ago when the mobile phone " text talk" was just coming into the scene. )

I contested it on th e grounds there are a lot of abbreviations for instnace. "btw, AFAIK, " and so on.

but he banned me.

he did the same to me on his Crafty list.

( I felt he was evading quesions by simply answering Crafty questions with his
standard reply [read the "read me files" ]

even then, I never lost my respect and admiration for Dr. Hyatt.

I soured on him for his downright insulting, condescending of others. Bob always had to have the last word. I wrote several posts suggesting that his confrontational personality was not proper behavior for a university professor and asked him to back off some.

So yes, it is fair to say he is not my favorite person.

Wayne Lowrance wrote:Robert Hyatt comes to mind. He is very biased concerning Vas and Rybka. He is totally oblivious that some recent clones are strongly suspect. How in heck could all of these free programs come out almost at once and so strong. I expect Robert Hyatt will run for moderator. I am total against this.
Btw, the current moderators are doing a good job under very difficult times in my opinion.
What about biased poster ?
Polish National tragedy in Smoleńsk. President and all delegation murdered or killed.
Cui bono ?

There are not bugs free programs.
There are programs with undiscovered bugs.

For the record, nobody has ever been "banned" from the Crafty list. It is not even possible to do that with the software we use.

Aha. So...

bad behaviour == precisely making a factual statement that you don't like.

right???

I think your original post approaches "bad behaviour" far closer than does my reply...

And, for the record, I've not complained about your "bad behaviour" at all. And when asked by a moderator about moving it, I suggested leaving it where it is. Discussion doesn't frighten me away..

Where in the charter does it say that open season on moderators is allowed?
Personal attacks apply to everybody from what I can read. This is one aspect in which we've always had differing opinions. Constructive criticism is okay, but personal attacks or abusive remarks should never be okay.
Despite this, I'm happy to shift the thread if Bob consents.

Cheers,
Graham.
What I don't understand is your opposition to expert opinion, holding CCC hostage to its own experts without whom the place would've never existed. They created it but now you're holding a gun to its head until they decide to leave and take their custom elsewhere. You don't seem like you're waiting for the experts to weigh in. The weight is in for crying out loud. What exactly are you doing?
