Houdini 2 -Nalimov TB

Post by Gino Figlio »

I've noticed that if I run DR4.1 +Nalimov 6TB and Houdini2 +Nalimov 6TB at the same time, Houdini starts to slow down after the first hour to the point where the depth displayed by both engines is the same. Usually Houdini reaches depths +3 compared to Rybka. The task manager does not show evidence of unequal distribution of cores, each engine is assigned 3 cores on a 6-core computer. Anyone else seeing this?

Be sure you do constant backups :)

To share the tablebases fair for two engines you need 2 harddisks. Using two engines with huge tablebases can damage the harddisk after a while.

I mean two engines with huge tablebases and one harddisk.

What is the damage reason?
Tablebases are for reading only, dosn't they?
