Re: 3Champs reloaded
I am not a specialist in theory, but I guess that many of the black moves played from move 5 to move 15 do not match theory. They do not match theory, but they are winning the game. I.e., had you played with a 10-move book, or a 15-move book, the outcome would have been different.Hugo wrote:amazing game!

Maybe it is about time for chess databases to start referring to games played by engines in different competitions when they point to the usefulness of positions and lines.

Re: 3Champs reloaded
I can find all of black and white's moves in my d/b thru move 15, and I see that black plays the best moves in my d/b thru move 15 and is winning. My d/b does not have 16.Qh5 but has 16.Qd2 as white's best but with 43% success.Lyudmil Tsvetkov wrote:I am not a specialist in theory, but I guess that many of the black moves played from move 5 to move 15 do not match theory. Re: 3Champs reloaded
The interesting thing is why Stockfish does not trade the d5 bishop for the white e4 knight on the 23rd move. The e4 knight is definitely stronger than the bishop, almost an outpost, besides attacking the king.Hugo wrote:so many nice games...

Re: 3Champs reloaded
Looking at the current results of your tournament, it is mirroring other results I have seen. Houdini 4 is clearly behind Stockfish and Komodo. Currently Stockfish is starting to take a commanding lead.
Houdini is going to have to make changes in its release structure, it is already behind Stockfish and Komodo. And they seem fine with releasing new upgrades in a timely manner. In a years time Houdini who is already behind Stockfish and Komodo with the new release of Houdini 4 will be left far behind in a years time.
