Has Evert Glebbeek, author of Jazz, shown any interest? I noticed that Jazz aka Jazz Orchestra (that is funny, Evert ) is capable of running 16 cores.

Hi Adam,

No he has not contacted me. For sure it would be interesting.

edit: Testing the latest beta 799 now.

Yes, it works fine with 16 cores in Win as well. It's definitely in the lower end of the ratings though, but nice find. :)

Jazz Orchestra is the multi-core version of Jazz (I thought it sounded better than "Deep Jazz" or something like that). I've never tried to run it on more than four cores (for lack of a machine that would allow me to test things properly), so scalability is probably awful. The data structures are there to handle 16 threads though.

I've also never tried it on Windows (not having a Windows machine to test on), so I'd consider it experimental.

There is one minor SMP related change in my development version, but otherwise r799 is "current".

All that said, I'd think Jazz is still a bit too weak to play with the "big boys". :)

Evert - am I right in assuming that Jazz 721 is still the latest official version?
I see on your website that Jazz 799 is marked as a beta.
