What engine do YOU consider as World Computer Chess Champion?

The poll is to know what you consider a WCCC besides if there is an official designation.

I still vote for none (if other means other option then it covers it, if it means another tournament, no). I will check other.

I think we have a clear picture of the public opinion.

And I share it.

At what time control?

I think a more interesting/accurate question might have been:

Do you consider Junior to be the current world champion of computer chess at long time controls? Yes/no.

Honestly, I have no problem having multiple world champions based upon various criteria. Houdini could validly claim the world championship in Blitz/Lightning based upon weeks spent with the #1 ranking in the LS rating list. The CCRL lists are little more dodgy (in my opinion) simply due to the MOE, but certainly claims could be made from that as well if one were thus inclined. TCEC is also a reasonable source to make such a claim (in my opinion) due to the effort Martin has put in to ensure an equitable competition. While the results may not achieve statistical significance, they are the best we have for such conditions (of which I am aware). On a side note, I think a rapid play tournament on the TCEC hardware would also be great. Claiming the title based upon one's ICGA result is also perfectly acceptable in my eyes.

I guess I see each list, organization, tournament, whatever, as its own individual "league" of which an entity may be a world champion of any it sees fit / is allowed to participate in.

If an entity makes dubious "world champion" claims (based upon legitimate results), then they may also want to consider how that reflects upon them. But that is left to an individual's discretion and the court of public opinion.

It is just an effect of mode as was it for iPhone

I was charmed by TCEC myself, but I also was quickly disappointed when I learned that Martin withdrew candidates on request.

If None exists, then I vote for None.

funny Louis but I think I feel the same way.
I am still trying to decide if I care.
This place is like a circus and difficult to take serious.
One day the mods ban some really good pictures but the next day they let a guy start a happy birthday thread.

There should be another attempt at an election in the next 30 days. Please, throw your hat into the ring. I will vote for you so that you can straighten everything out. :D
