Re: Tricky bishop vs knight endgame
Yes, the poster in the H4 "clueless" thread was correct. This is exactly what that poster was talking about in his SF-H4 games.sicilianquake87 wrote:He was right then: this is SF-H4.mwyoung wrote:Bram Mourik: "But besides that, I observe no "clueless" Houdini 4 in my H4-SF matches neither. Houdini 4 lost track and was lost against Stockfish after Bh2 ?
It needs quite a long time on my system for Houdini 4 to find the right and only drawing move 45 ..Be3! at depth 30.

That Bram claimed clearly as a bias Houdini 4 fan does not happen to H4 when playing Stockfish.
Then Bram himself post a position and game where Houdini 4 is "clueless" playing Stockfish.
The irony is too rich...
Bram should apologize to that poster in the "H4 Clueless" thread.

Re: Tricky bishop vs knight endgame
Dear Mark, yes the irony is certainly looking too obvious here
I went through al the decisive games played
and this was the only example out of 50 games at CCRL 40/40TC where I could criticize Houdini 4 for blundering
I let Houdini 3 run on the position and it found Be3 much faster
Perhaps something to look at for Robert Houdart
Btw. I am as much a Stockfish- as a Houdini-fan

Thanks for using the words HFB in other thread. And getting the thread locked and half deleted Louis.

Here a picture of Houdini 4 in multi PV mode two lines and Houdini 3 as kibitzer with one core less. You can notice the difference
Houdini 3 gives Be3 0.00 and Kd4 +0,30 while Houdini 4 till depth 33 at least gives Bh2? and Be3 both 0.00
Perhaps something with hash refresh or other ?[/img]

Only a man as learned as yourself would blame the hardware, for what the software instructed the hardware to do.
