Stockfish speeds on my i3 4 core laptop on start position after 30 seconds of infinite analysis:
May 19 2014 standard dev release : 2671kn/s depth 24
Stockfish 5 standard release: 2633kn/s depth 24
Stockfish 5 modern release: 2637kn/s depth 23
Looking good, will beging testing immediately for CEGT 40/4, estimate date for CEGT 40/4 update will be June 7-10. Thanks for the release and congratulations.
Actually that laptop is 2 cores with 4 threads (two threads are HT, so not same benefit as having 4 cores.
A doubling of cores should give you about 1.9 speedup. On 1 thread I get about 1059kn/s for the SSE4.2 version. On 2 threads I get 1972kn/s which is close to 1.9. On 4 threads 2637kn/s so only getting 1.34 speedup, on a real 4 core machine i could expect somewhere around 3746kn/s.

I may have missed something but why has the syzygy code been removed?
It has never been part of the official source tree.
It was in the version which played in TCEC. So it was not the official version but your private one that played. Congratulations to your win.
Anyway, I can't see why it is not in the official branch. Or why the two are not merged.
