I corrected my bugs in the last version (4.5) and added new functions (stalemate and trapped pieces detections).
It is very important in solving the main future problem the draw detection.

You can watch how works the trapped pieces detection in the following winning positions:
q1b4n/1p1pKp2/1p1p1Pp1/1P1P2Pp/2P4P/8/7R/1N1k4 w - - bm Ra2;
3k4/2pq3p/pp5R/4P3/P6P/2PN4/1PN3K1/8 w - - bm Nd4;
1k1n4/1p1b1p2/1Bp1pPp1/1PP1P3/8/6P1/8/1K6 w - - bm Bc7+;
BTW. You can use an old dual core too.

Re: Sting Sf 4.6 release
Chrome claims Sting Sf 4.6 is malicious and blocks it. IE 11 has no problems downloading it.

Marek doesn't develop this for Elo. If he did, he'd be rebasing his changes against Stockfish 5, not still using the 2.1.1 codebase.vittyvirus wrote:What's its elo now/
Sting is usually 50-100 Elo behind Stockfish 2.1.1, so it's still pretty strong, and dare I say it, one of the greatest analysis engines out there (better than Houdini)

Re: Sting Sf 4.6 release
Sting sf is a serious project. I try to prove that an artificial intelligence (anything it means) is not needed for chess (and people too).
Sting can solve many positions easy for chess players, and very difficult for engines. Sting can do it even on very old dual core machines in time less than half hour, it means the version 64-bit is not needed for you.
Sting is based on Stockfish 2.1.1, and its version 4.6, without stalemate and trapped pieces detections, seems to be a bit stronger than the parent (SF 211 in the same conditions of compilations), and a bit weaker with the new functions. A bit for me means 30 ELO.
But both the functions can and will be improved, they and only prototypes.
Both are needed to realize the future and last goal of my work: how to get zero in draw positions?

Oh, how I wish you the best in achieving this lofty goal as they are the scourge of engine chess

Perhaps Jose might help out with a 64-bit compile?Hurnavich wrote:Hi,

The negative behavior of engines it is an effect of a neglect of programmers.ouachita wrote:Oh, how I wish you the best in achieving this lofty goal as they are the scourge of engine chess
