Nice win by Jonny.

I've unsuccessfully requested to be allowed to use Jonny 6 in my 8 core tourneys many times.
Either I have the author's wrong email address or he chooses to ignore me without the courtesy of ever replying.

Graham.

Hi Graham,

in SWCR2 times I tested Jonny 6 too and got it from the author. I send him serveral mails and got also no answers. Sure, he had a lot do to. I hope of a free Version of Jonny.

Jonny is a great program but so far I am testing only available engines. Bad that Sjeng isn't longer available or Booot have such a big Problem. This three engines I must have in my list but Booot have an error (no programs with Errors), Sjeng isn't available (only available programs) and Jonny is private (only official Versions of engines).

So each one can look and have now Problems to install the programs I am using on the own PC and can do the same. Important ... to use private engines isn't good for publications on Webpages. And I got a lot of mails in all the years ... where I can get Jonny or other things.

In this case you are in the positions to ignore mails.

Best

Nice tournament, Clemens! Gull 3 actually came in first, a real surprise

Could you kindly make the games available for download, please? :)
(I couldn't see a download link, unlike the previous tourn)
Thanks,

Hi,

and a very good result for Junior again. The 6. in this strong field is a excellent Performance!
Better than: all other classical engines like Shredder, hiarcs, Fritz and even better than Texel, Fire, Protector and Chiron.....

that was even a surprise to me (a Junior fan).....

hope Martin will take the same Junior Version for TCEC (and not the 13.3)

I think Gull 3 has nice contempt setting. There's a 2.5 point difference between the Big 5 and 6th place.

If the tournament only included the Big 5 I think Gull 3 would end up at the bottom.

Hi
There are a few things that affect this tournament.
Fisrt is the hardware. I think some engines "like" the older platforms.
Rybka for example was always great on the 56XX Xeons, and is rather poor on the E5-26XX v2 Xeons.
And of course its a lot of luck to get an acceptable possition when out of book (6moves).
I am intrested to continue this tournament with the top 10 or top 8.
Want to use the newest Haswell_E platform for it. 8cpu, DDR 4 RAM, Stockfish and Gull as BMI2 compile, new Komodo 8..... would be a great tour....

So, yay to Nehalem, but nay to Sandy Bridge?

You read my mind, although I would replace Chiron or Naum (depending on how many participants you enroll) for Zappa. Always curious to see how this dinosaur runs, on new hardware.
