Hello folks. I just wanted to share a game between Shredder 12 (i7 920) vs Komodo 8 Android on a older Samsung Galaxy III. In the past I have tried Andriod and Ios engines vs Shredder 12. They were all crushed! However, it seems this may have changed.

Well, of course, Shredder is no match for Komodo. Do you realize only now?

I think you miss the point. Shredder is running on a quad I7 920 and Komodo Android is running on a slow Galaxy III. Whereas, Shredder 12 crushes Stockfish 5 on this same platform. Capiche?

Shredder was set to 5 min and Komodo Android was set to 15 sec per move.

I think you missed that Shredder is running on a desktop i7 quadcore while Komodo is running on a mobile phone! When you consider that the desktop computer probably has a tremendous amount of super fast RAM relative to the mobile as well as dramatically more capable processing power it is a very impressive achievement!

Game in 5 minutes does not equal 15 seconds per move. Game in 5 minutes is between 300/60 and 300/40 unless you are using that to compensate for the hardware speed disparity.

Here a other tournament but now on my Pipo T9 tablet 8cores @1.7Ghz same Mediatek MT6592 octa-core cpu as my mobile..but a little bit slower

"Chess for Android" lets people run engine matches on Android devices. A few people have already sent us some good results, and we would like to hear more. I suggest having a charger plugged into your Android device, since chess engines use a lot of power.

So far overall, I would say the Stockfish 5 is a little better than Komodo 8 on Android. I have not played enough games yet to be sure. However here is a nice problem like endgame that occurred in one of their encounters.
