Gerhard posts the nicest plots!
Do you by chance have Stockfish 5 results? It looks like the Stockfish guys (and gals) really improved MP scaling, and it would be nice to see it visually.

These improvements were mainly after Stockfish 6. So I am not sure you would see too much difference. There are some results on fastgm that show the scaling improvement beyond 8 cores.mjlef wrote:Gerhard posts the nicest plots!

No problem.
But there are rumours that they made progress
regarding SMP after the release of version 6.0 ?!
Best wishes,

Stockfish 6 has quite a number of major SMP changes missing; there is no question that its scaling is far from that of the latest development version of SF. The latest development version should be tested. SF 6 doesn't even have its threads spinning 100 percent which definitely hurts performance when there are a lot of cores involved. SF 6 is old news...

One day I'll sit down and draw some 95% confidence intervals around these values

Thx Gerhard,
It would be nice to have some "Oldies" to compare. E.g. Shredder, Junior, Hiarcs, Fritz (especially 13 and 14!).
Graph AND Spreadsheet!
Bye

That would be nice indeed, but we have no
data for the older engines with more than 4-Cores.
Best wishes,
