So Samsung tops the bench, but is it really better than an iPad Pro that uses only 2 cores to obtain its results ?

iPad pro uses heavy-weight CPU A9X.
More energy available in tablet can be used to enforce CPU.

A9X uses double channel RAM controller with 51.2 GB/s bandwidth, while smartphone class CPUs like Kirin 955, Exynos or Apple A9 have half - 25.6 GB/s

Chess engine by its nature is heavily dependent on RAM speed.

Do not know about Exynos 8890 (S7) but Exynos 7420 (S6) is only 78 mm2 compare to 147 mm2 in A9X, and 104.5 mm2 in A9.

A9X speed gain is not worse of additional cost of A9X and it's power usage

i have a new benchmark.

the mobile phone is called

Oukitel K6000 Pro.

It has a mediathek 8 Core 64 Bit CPU,
but sadly they sell it with a 32 Bit Android Marshmallow.

Nevertheless it has 8x1300 Mhz speed and uses 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM.
So it is above middle-class phone i would say.

Normally they do not have 3 GB and only 16 GB. Of course it has SD card slot.
the cheap phones have only HD resolution. This phone has FHD resolution.
also the camera has real 13 MP (interpolated to 16 MP).

Antutu gives 36725 score and the chess benchmark with droidfish gives
1195 KNPS.

I bought the phone for 140 Euro because it has 6000 mAh accu
that runs for a long time. ( it's twice the size of the Battery top phones usually have)

the phone is made by metal.

here you can see a test and also pictures of the phone.

1.195 is not THAT much of score but for 140 Euro it is not expensive
and if you relate it with the score of the top Qualcomm 820 devices that cost
500-800 Euro the value is Not too bad either.
I bought it for going outside in the summer where I do not want to take
An expensive phone with me on the beach. There I have no electricity.
So I need a bigger battery. There is another detail, it seems the splash proof water resistant, what is not bad for the beach.

I am back with the Huawei p9 plus.
From all mobile phones it has the best package.

Fast octacore CPU, no Qualcomm shit. = good for chess.
Stereo loudspeakers and USB C (Samsung s7 edge has neither stereo nor USB c)
Most other phones have slow Qualcomm CPU.

How is the UI (the operating system)? Is it as good as TouchWiz, or Lg, or HTC?

The operating system or GUI is ok.
Everything works fine,

The only thing I do not like is that it looks from the form of the mobile like
A Sony mobile or chocolate. I do prefer lg G3/G4 formats or Motorola formats, where the backside of the phone is round and you can hold it good into your hand.
But technically the Huawei p9 plus has everything a computer chess enthusiast looks for,

Iphone 7 just announced, from reading about the processing power claims a 40% increase in performance over 6s. Think it has 4 cores this time so better for chess. Just hope that processors don't think that chess analysis is low priority and choose the slow processors.

I doubt if iPhone7 CPU permits the use of all 4 cores at once. Probably just two at a time but I hope not.

What i'm excited is the announcement of Huawei Mate 9 later this year. Its Kirin 960 CPU which uses ARM Artemis Cortex A73 happens to have 64/64 instruction and data L1 caches! Remember that this 64/64 L1 cache configuration is the reason iPhones are very fast for chess even with just Dual Core. Now imagine what quad Cores can do.
