What is the computer limit for the standard version? I have 3 computers and usually like to play computer versus computer.
Houdini 3 was limited to 3 has it changed?

Thank you Robert. Also, thank you for offering the 15% upgrade discount on webpage for those who purchased Houdini 4. Just sent my payment in. My true desire is to get a macOS native Houdini 5 if possible. Under macOS, I have to run Houdini in 32 bit mode through, which is a handicap on my machine and I do not get to experience Houdini at full strength.

Best regards,

Hello,

unfortunately I have a licence problem.

First installation on I7 4770 is OK.
Second installation on i7 4770 not OK ..

If I start in text mode I can see ...
"Info string no valid license found - the engine strength will be reduced"

Thrid Installation on i7 5930 not OK ...
"Info string no valid licence found - the engine strength will be reduced"

No idea here ...

Robert, did you manage to add back the greatest tactics that any chess engine has? Together with the great positional level, at the same time?

"Below some results for a popular tactical test suite with Houdini running at 20 seconds per position with 2 threads on a Core i7-5820K using 512 MB hash.

Arasan 19 Tactical Suite, comprising 200 medium to hard positions
- Houdini 4 (normal mode) solves 123 positions, total solution time 34:59 minutes.
- Houdini 4 Tactical Mode solves 158 positions, total solution time 24:31 minutes.
- Houdini 5 (normal mode) solves 124 positions, total solution time 35:30 minutes.
- Houdini 5 Tactical Mode solves 168 positions, total solution time 20:57 minutes."

dont know how these results compare to SF and komodo

Re: Solved ...

Hi there,

I copy the engine via network in the Shredder / engine directory at first (here all the engines are installed) and install Houdini at second on the second and third machine via setup.

That was my mistake!

I delete the houdini files in Shredder directory, reinstall Houdini on the second and third machine. Made again a new installation and all works fine on machine 2 & machine 3.

Sorry for my message!
Now Frank is happy!

Best
Frank

You should email this to Robert Houdart...
Houdini should allow 4 activations with one key:

Houdini 5 requires an internet product activation which will automatically
be performed during the installation.
Your Serial Number will allow 4 product activations on computers that you
personally own.
