What engine in particular are you interested in ?
Hi Ray, you do a great job with the list. I am interested in Nemorino 1.02, Shredder 13, Stockfish 8, Komodo 10.2, Houdini 5, Bobcat 8.0, Daydreamer 2.00pre, Bright 0.5c and Fire 5 when released (I hope soon.)

New Octochess and Tornado 7 are buggy.
Daydreamer is not an official release as far as I'm aware.
Octochess and Tornado haven't caused any issues in my testing.

Yes, you are right.

I was talking about FRC, at least in Cute Chess 0.9.4 and Winboard. Sometimes, they make illegal moves after their opponents castles. It seems ChessGUI is more permissive at least with Tornado, have not tested it with the new Octoches.

Octochess and Tornado have always worked perfectly for me at chess960 under ChessGUI and I expect the new versions will be the same.

Have you tried Octochess r5506?

ChessGUI is good, but I prefer a GUI that allows to play multiple games of the same tournament at the same time.

I ran this tournament under Winboard 4.6.0 at 15'+3"

Code: Select all

Despite losing some games on time by illegal move, Tornado did not do that bad.

Komodo 10.2 is underway. Stockfish 8 will follow and then Houdini 5 once 5.01 is released.

Well, why not? ;-)
At least it is in the RELEASE folder. I don't know what else he could do
for a release, even if it is called 'pre' (Pre2 meanwhile)?

The message from Aaron to myself was as follows:

Just wanted to let you know that although my rewrite is still a work in progress, I've made a pre-release at https://github.com/AaronBecker/daydream ... 2.0.0-pre2

Chess960: Houdini 5.01 replaces Houdini 4 on the pure list with a rating +205 higher. In the complete database, Houdini 5.01 shows as +228 over H4. Very impressive, and oh so close to Stockfish 8 !

I need to add Shredder 13 and Fire 5 now. Stockfish and Houdini desperately need some more strong opponents.
