I don't even know if it is applicable for chess . I was hoping one of our resident experts would comment ......... Maybe they are going to build Neural Network chips ??

8-bit architecture. This is for artificial neural nets. They do not require mathematical precision. It's "brain sim" stuff, so no big number crunching but rather pattern recognition.
