To me this one works, the download as well as the engine.

Something changed for the worse it appears. I run McBrain 2.6 (and now 2.7) on Linux using Wine. With 2.6, the UCI_Limit_Strength option shows in the window you get when you choose to configure McBrain in Arena 3.5.1.

However, with McBrain 2.7, the UCI_Limit_Strength option does NOT show, so it is not possible to make use of the UCI_Elo option (since that does not take effect without UCI_Limit_Strength being checked as active).

If there is something that can be done to make McBrain 2.7's UCI options display properly, that would be much appreciated!

Thank you Roy for the feedback - a fix is on the way. I have friend who has graciously offered to help with the windows binaries and will post here when the updated is available to download. There will be no other changes - so for those who do not use the limit strength feature will not need to re-download.

Hi Mike,

Should the Fastplay option be on or off when testing? What does the option mean?

Fast Play - with a very high score,i.e., a score approaching a tablebase mate, it will play super fast, but not necessarily the shortest win in moves. I have use it most often to speed up play when I'm watching the game.
