Double-click on dmg file will open file. Drag and drop app to Applications folder or folder of choice to install.Norbert Raimund Leisner wrote:Hello Macintosh-users,

Hi Max,
Thanks. But does the average mac user know where to install it? E.g. to drag it into which folder?

For sure - most Mac users will install in the Applications folder. Some like me will have a separate folder for some apps. For example I have a folder called 'MyApps' in which I have Firefox, Chrome and Opera plus email clients Thunderbird and AirMail and a host of other apps. Its just my preference thats all.flok wrote:Hi Max,

When a dmg file is double-clicked the Mac Unarchiver will unzip/unrar the file and dump a folder on the desktop if that is where the dmg file is. In that folder will be the app (icon) plus other stuff depending on the app. Then its a matter of dragging/dropping the executable (icon) into either the Applications folder or folder of the users choice. There are some fussy apps which prefer the Applications folder so drag to that folder.
Done ..
