My curiosity is killing me though...it seems you somehow, in your first attempt, got him to play a quiet form of Alekhine's Defense, instead of a sharp Sicilian which forms the large majority of his (Tal's) repertoire book.

How'd you get him to play Alekhine's?

And even better, an Alekhine's defense where the d-file opens up and a queen swap is basically inevitable - you lucky guy!

That's like getting me to play Scandinavian, I'd play like a moron in that opening (on either side) regardless of the objective merit of my position.

Also, what time control did you use? I wanna see if I can keep this guy under control under the same conditions

I don't know why he played the Alekhine but I admit that it was probably luck. The time control was 40 moves in 120 minutes repeating. I always play that time control when I play a strong engine incase I need to think.
