005 - CCLS Season 02 - Entry League (64 engines)

Today I found out that sometime during the tournament, Arena reset the configuration of Counter to defaults (which means 16 threads instead of 1). It's not the 1st time that happens to me with arena, but usually I catch it at the beginning of the tournaments, but not this time. It happened recently, probably yesterday or the day before, but I can't tell for sure.
After a bit of thinking, I'm going to replay every Counter match before round 82 (the game vs ChessBrainVB), but I'll do it after the tournament is complete. I think it's the only fair thing to do, as I'm not sure how many matches were affected and it's a disadvantage for the other engines.


Edit: forget about it, I checked some logs and the only game affected was vs Critter, and it still lost. So everything is fine.

This happened to me with other engines. What you need to do after setting up your engines, is to restart Arena and then create a new tournament.
If you set up an engine and without closing Arena, you start a tournament, engine's options might change to default when Arena autorestart (if you have set up the option of restart engines or Arena after some games or tournaments.)

Finally the tournament is finished and Critter is (as expected), the champion.
Top 8 engines promote to the Junior League and bottom 16 have been demoted and will be replaced by other engines in Season 3. I will also demote and replace Monolith 0.3, as it gave me a lot of troubles losing on time almost 50% of the matches and had to replay games several times. It doesn't seem to be working with blitz short time controls.

Hey, have you considered turning on Critter's learning? It would be interesting to know if its feature would help her perform better.
