Thanks for this update. Looks lighter to the eyes and looks a bit spacious.
Some features are new to me, like if I click the name of the poster I can see "add friend" and "add foe". What would happen if these features are clicked?
Sorry if this was already previously discussed which I obviously missed.

Regarding Talkchess update and features
I told my wife that a husband is like a fine wine; he gets better with age. The next day, she locked me in the cellar.

Hi,
By the way, the pgn and d tags seem not to be working.

This is probably not final, because it is still http so not safe. I am not sure even the administrators knows that this forum exists. But for now I hazard that it is genuine. One can still login, so it's not an easy fake. Got a message the domain was up for sale, then "403 Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forum/index.php on this server." which still in place at the old site. No warning about any problems or updates since. Not even here.
If anyone knows more?
But at least we're still here Welcome to the new forum!

@Eelco de Groot
a few weeks ago I got an email from Mark L. saying talkchess was down and also a reply from Quentin Turner at chessusa.com which said they were having trouble with the site and said, "...I tried (and failed) to upgrade the phpbb to a recent version last year."
Looks like he successed this time.
Nice job Quentin!

Thanks for the info Jesse!
Glad to hear that Quentin is still there at ChessUSA! It seems we are at phpBB3_4 now, according to what my cookie stored. I am not sure that is really a recent version? But it is newer than what was in place for the old forum.

clicking "add friend" will ignore that user's posts. For example, in place of Milos' posts, I now see:
Milos, who is currently on your ignore list, made this post.

Perhaps it is a two-step process to be able to move to the latest version.Eelco de Groot wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 11:08 am Thanks for the info Jesse!

My mistake. Yes, I meant 'add foe'.
