Fire 7.1 32 bit is not 32 bit

Post by Colin-G »

The Fire_7.1.7z 7zip file, I downloaded today, does not contain a valid 32 bit Windows executable.
After successfully testing the 64 bit popcnt version in Arena (using wine in Mint 18.1), I tried the 32 bit version on a WinXP 32 bit computer.
It failed with the message about it not being a valid Win 32 application.
I then went back to my linux computer and ran the "file" command on it.
It gave the following result

Code: Select all

Fire_7.1_w32.exe: PE32+ executable (console) x86-64 (stripped to external PDB), for MS Windows
Running the same test on Alaric707.exe which is definitely 32 bit gave

Code: Select all

Alaric707.exe: PE32 executable (console) Intel 80386, for MS Windows
True 32 bit Win files show "Intel 80386", like Alaric does.

Just checked Fire_7.1_w32.exe ..and it's indeed a 64bit compile.

While you are at it, why don't you add a Win XP 64-bit compatible ?
