TCEC has now nice hardware

Post by Jouni »

128 cores:

SF[128] PV +0.28
[Depth: 40/39 Speed: 174Mn/s 48973M nodes]

But only for analysis - not for playing! We are heading again for SF - Komodo final?

That hardware is privately owned, and TCEC is being given access. The owner has quite an "arsenal":

"This is @noobpwnftw 's arsenal: 4xE5-4669v4 88C/176T (TB building), 8xXeon Scalable 8168 192C/384T, 100x E5-265(6)0 fishtest (800 cores), 100x Ryzen TRs (his own work), 50x i7-7xxx(random) on OpenBench (400 cores) and 400 E3-1230 (his own work)."

Hi Zullil,

I wonder, is SF[128] 128 cores / 128 threads (no HT),
or 64 cores / 128 threads (with HT) ?

Only one point separate Komodo from Houdini currently:

Code: Select all

Rank Engine # Games Points Wins [W/B] Crashes SB Elo Diff [Live]
1 Stockfish 010918 42 29.5 18[13/5] 0 556.25 3519 42 [3561]
2 Komodo 2121.01 42 26 14[11/3] 0 492 3475 18 [3493]
3 Houdini 6.03 41 25 9[9/0] 0 498 3491 -25 [3466]
4 Fire 7.1 41 19 4[3/1] 0 381.5 3393 -15 [3378]
5 Ethereal 10.97 41 18 4[4/0] 0 357.75 3350 34 [3384]
6 Andscacs 094030 41 16.5 1[1/0] 0 327.25 3339 13 [3352]
7 Chiron S13 42 16 1[1/0] 0 321 3354 -48 [3306]
8 Ginkgo S13 42 16 0[0/0] 0 319.25 3340 -19 [3321]
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

I believe that the 128 threads are running on a machine that has 192 physical cores.

Is this new record: [Depth: 72/14 Speed: 647Mn/s 209834M nodes] :!: :?: It was endgame position bishops and pawns both side.
