Top overt 50+ Men winners Vs Top 5 FIDE Women ?

Post by Chessqueen »

This would be an interesting tournament by getting the 5 top scorer of the over 50+ men and to match them versus the top 5 FIDE female players in a 5 round robin.
It would be interesting to see Movsziszian, Karen rated 2513 versus GM Ju Wenjun and so on and on.......

Note: Some people here on this Forum believe that it is only interesting to see top over 2700+ men matches even if most of us do NOT know really what is going on in strategies and very hard to find tactics unless we use Komodo or SF, but matches like his would be very interesting, of course you would have to Keep GM How Yifan OUT since she is too strong for these men :D

These are not the top 50+ Men players.

The top 50+ players did not play in this competition:

GM Boris Gelfand 2673
GM Igors Rausis 2655
GM Julio E Granda Zuniga 2650
GM Evgeny Bareev 2650
GM Nigel D Short 2646
GM Michal Krasenkow 2630

Note that I included only active players so I did not include GM garry kasparov

I still believe that these top Female FIDE players would make an interesting tournament against the top 55+ men players, but NOT the Top 50+ and GM How Yifan would make an interesting one to one match against GM Boris Gelfan 2673

1 Hou Yifan 2662.0 0.0 2607.0 2627.0 24
2 Ju Wenjun 2575.1 +0.1 2584.0 2558.0 27
3 Muzychuk A 2569.0 0.0 2595.0 2559.0 28
4 Lagno 2560.0 0.0 2539.0 2560.0 28
5 Koneru 2541.0 0.0 2479 i 2499 i 31

I strongly believe that Mr.Kasparov is over rated, he has been inactive for a while except when he played Chess 960 in San Louis which he did NOT do so so well against GM Topalov. I know that Chess960 and Standard chess are different specially in the opening but after the first 8 thru 12 moves all the principles of standard chess, strategies and tactics still applied. I do NOT believe that Mr. Kasparov still plays at a level higher than 2750 at the moment. Just like Mr. Karpov that his rating went down more than 90 rating points, I believe that Kasparov can NOT beat a 2720 rated player in a 10 round Robin match. GM Anand can easily destroy Mr.Kasparov Nowadays in 10 standard games.
