Rebelfish, no April 1 joke

Post by Rebel »

Rebelfish is intended to enrich the Stockfish engine with typical Rebel | ProDeo features such as in ProDeo 2.9 and at the same time (for the fun part) allow ProDeo in reverse to profit from Stockfish strength via an old REBEL 10 trick notable from the previous century.

...

How it works
As with the (old 1999) EOC approach, see section EOC usage during calculating the engine applies a bonus based on the results of the EOC database to guide the engine but now -- 20 years later -- the database is replaced by Stockfish running in the background. Same technique, different database and not limited to the opening phase but always available. And the results are spectacular. Depending on the time control 250-400 elo.

Interesting.
But it would be nicer if this composition would give this 250-400 Elo to Stockfish.
Can we use your program to other engines than Stockfish?
I think your GUI may suitable for running together Stockfish and Leela.
What is your opinion about it?

Trying to use it to find the correct move faster then default stockfish with this position.

here is what I have on that position:
[d]rn3r1k/pn1p1ppq/bpp4p/7P/4N1Q1/6P1/PP3PB1/R1B1R1K1 w - - acd 52; acs 5100; bm Bg5 b4; c0 "https://www.reddit.com/r/chess/comments ... _moderate/"; c1 "Hard"; c3 "Bg5"; c5 "dorszcz.1285"; c6 "also, for b4, the score is 145 for depth 45 with the following pv b4 d5 Bb2 f5 Qf4 dxe4 Rxe4 Nd7 Re7 Nf6 Rd1 Nxh5 Qh4 Nf6 Rdd7 Rad8 Rxd8 Nxd8 Bxf6 Nf7 Rxa7 Bd3 Bc3 Qg6 Bf3 Be4 Bh5 Qd6 Qe7 Qxe7 Rxe7 Bd5 a4 Kh7 Rc7 g6 Bd1 Kg8 Rb7 b5 a5 Ra8 Rc7 Kf8 Be2 Re8 Kf1 Ra8 f3 Kg8 Kf2 g5 Bd4 f4 Bd3 fxg3+ Kxg3"; ce 151; id "Hard.xxx"; pm Bg5 b4; pv Bg5;

Both b4 and Bg5 give a substantial advantage.

Is it possible to run Rebelfish on Linux? I'm installing Linux on my computers, and I'm wondering if it's possible to do this (specifically in regards to Editpad). Thank you in advance.
