The Russian Campaign (excellent game)
Wooden Ships and Iron Men (pretty good)
Squad Leader (tons of fun)
King Maker! (superb game for 4-8 players, you're never out of the game)
If I knew of an assisted living facility that stocked all these old games I'd give up this life and move in tomorrow!
Absolutely! Avalon Hill had some great titles.
I discovered a "virtual crack" in the map for the Battle of The Bulge which if exploited precisely enabled the German player to capture Bastogne in two moves. That is of course a key to winning the game for either side.

Hi
I have been playing chess 35 years, and I continue playing and styding, but I would like to find a simpler game to vary a little. Some requisites I search:
- 2 players or more type. No puzzle type.
- Easy to learn, and possibility to play fast games.
- Not a big board. Not need to learn a lot of characters or knowledged trees (like civilization)
- Less skilled than chess or go. Where you can learn a few strategies and than is fun for the game.
- Would prefer much more strategy than tactics.
- If possible with windows or android version to be able to play with others.
- Chess is perfect and symetrical type. Maybe something different where bluffs, risk, intuition and other characteristics are involved. So no Go, Reversi or similar please.
I have been toying with Yathzee (very very fun, some strategy and tactics, quick games, but much luck involved, although if you play for classification and not for single games is fine), stratego, and minimetro (android). All fun but would like to see what others in this forum enjoy with other than chess...
