New release: rofChade 2.1

Post by Ronald »

Hi,

After playing with multiple intermediate versions in different tournaments it is time to release a new rofChade, version 2.1.

Next to multiple changes to the search and evaluation, syzygy tablebase support is include via the fathom library.

Version 2.1 with tablebases is an estimated 80 to 100 elo stronger than version 2.0 single threaded on the CCRL 40/4 scale.

Rofchade 2.1 can be downloaded from the website : http://rofchade.nl under the tab "Download". Under the tab "Releases" the version changes are defined.

A special thanks go to Ronald de Man, Basil Falcinelli and John Dart for making the implementation of endgame Tablebases (syzygy) a breeze, and to all the testers, who devote a lot of time in testing rofChade (and many other engines).

Finally, thanks to everybody who takes interest in rofChade!

Hi Ronald,

any idea why ponder is working now ?
I've seen no entry within the release notes as to that.

Best wishes,

I have an idea, i fixed it...

It was noticed by mibere just after releasing 2.0, and I fixed it soon after that, but I forgot to mention it in the releasenotes, I will fix that.

I'm not sure when. I forgot some details for the compile, so I need my son to help, but he has been partying the last 3 days so I don't know when he will be back to life....
