Looking for R. Scharnagl FEN editor
Hello!
Does someone know where I can find the FEN editor by Reinhard Scharnagl? I have seen it somewhere but I can't remember where.
While I am here, where can I find the latest version of SMIRF?
Regards.
Roland

Unfortunately, Reinhard passed away some time ago.
The only working link for SMIRF I could find is here: http://computer-chess.org/doku.php?id=c ... e_gui_list

I think the FEN editor is part of the SMIRF Gui.Roland Chastain wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 10:10 amHello!

Re: Looking for R. Scharnagl FEN editor
I try without success to use SMIRF for a chess 960 tournament with Cute Chess CLI. I tried different things but it doesn't work. The only configuration which works is using Wb2Uci, but in that case SMIRF doesn't support chess 960.
I finally found, in a USB stick, a copy of the stand-alone FEN editor. Indeed, it's the same program than Smirf GUI.
For my tournament, I will see if I have more luck with Winboard.

I did put a copy on my drive:
FEN Editor
Reinhard made a very beautiful work. It's a pity that the Delphi source code is lost. The French translation is very bad.

You have used the smirfoglot adapter from HGM I guess? (otherwise it won't work at all)Roland Chastain wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 9:39 pmI try without success to use SMIRF for a chess 960 tournament with Cute Chess CLI. Yes, I use Smirfoglot. Thank you for the link. I downloaded the source code to study it.Norbert Raimund Leisner wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 8:06 amSmirfoglot WB converter http://home.hccnet.nl/h.g.muller/smirf.html
I tried to play a FRC game against SMIRF in Winboard: there is a message box saying that the "variant is not yet implemented".
