Re: Finally, Norway found the solution to end all agreed draws
The problem hasn't been "agreed draws", they are often prohibited for 30 or 40 moves and if they happen much later than that it is usually because the result is pretty clear anyway. Top level players don't normally want to draw when they have White (except maybe against MC). The problem is that White doesn't get enough advantage with correctly played openings to be likely to win at that level. Armageddon fixes the problem by weakening Black just enough to give White about a 50% chance to win between equal players. It's unfortunate that they didn't have increment right from the start in these Armageddon games; already one has been decided by a time forfeit (before increment kicks in at move 61). Probably they felt (rightly so in my opinion) that Black would win more than White if they did this, but since White keeps White for the Armageddon game that seems desirable to me. We don't yet know how large time odds would be needed for much slower Armageddon games.Chessqueen wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 3:20 am https://en.chessbase.com/post/altibox-norway-chess-live

I don't think there is any cause for this ignorant remark about Judit Polgar's weight.

I dunno about you but I watched 4 classical games that lasted for hours and ended up drawn because the players were saving their energy for the Armageddon.
Then the Armageddon was a crapshoot especially Aronian - Grischuk.
Solution looks worse than the problem to me.

No, society has created a standard on your mind, and people deviating from this stardard are considered "less attractive", but this is all arbitrary and wrong.
Actually, studies have shown that people with more weight are healthier than people with less weight, so chances are high Judit is healthier than Anna Rudolf, which seems very skinny and would be better gaining some 30 pounds.
In the end, my advice to women is to deviate from the standard, that way they can find a person that cares more about them than about their looks.
Your beliefs create your reality, so be careful what you wish for.
