Severe windows 10 problems. What to do?

Maybe the wrong time to play the smart ass,
but this issue reminds me of some simple rules...

- have always a second (old) system in reverse to be able to surf the web
- have always an working installation media present
- divide always user data from OS (two partitions) on Windows systems

Ik wil je niet ontmoedigen, maar als je dat nog niet gedaan hebt, zou ik nog maar een USB erbij nemen en daar de bestanden die je liever niet kwijt wilt op zetten. Als je er nog bij kunt. Het is maar een gok maar het zou toch kunnen dat die update van Windows zo veel van je systeem vraagt dat de harde schijf het echt begeven heeft. Er zaten misschien al slechte sectoren op en je schrijft dat de updates altijd heel lang duurden, dus ik denk dat de computer het gewoon niet aankon. Het is jammer van je Windows 10, maar ik zou er niet op vertrouwen dat die nog goed op je systeem staat en als je hem voor een andere computer gaat gebruiken, en hij is defect / corrupt, kom je van regen in drup. Ik ken nog wel een adres in Groningen misschien voor een 2e hands PC, al ben ik daar een hele tijd niet meer geweest. (Dacht dat je ergens in Groningen woonde?). Alleen Windows 10 moet je dan wel zelf aanschaffen lijkt me. Maar misschien heeft Joost wel beter idee.

Most shops don't have a clue, the people there are just sales people.

Yesterday I bought some loudspeaker cable, there was an arrow on it, the guy told me that the arrow should point in the direction of the loudspeaker because the the signal goes from the amplifier to the speaker, of course I told him this is complete nonsense and the guy got really mad at me.

First of all you have to try to get a backup of your data, otherwise you'll lose everything. If this is the only PC you have, you got to find somebody with a working Windows PC, connect you hard-disk via an USB adapter to the other PC and try to backup your data on a large USB stick or another hard-disk. On the other PC you can also make a bootable USB stick with the Windows installation files on it. After this, assuming that the hardware is not broken, you should be able to boot your laptop from the USB stick and to install Windows from scratch.

You also have people buying van den Hul cinch cables 75cm. long for 750 euro's each, and they can actually hear it. Don't let me laugh.
These are the same people saying that tube amplifiers are better than solid-state amplifiers.

The only important thing for a loudspeaker cable is that it has low resistance.

If you can't measure it, you certainly can't hear it.

Well, if you lookup stopcode 0x000012a you will see that it happens after a failed update. Who knows what happened, maybe you turned off the computer whilst it was in the middle of doing an update. I have no complaints about the stability of Windows 10 at all, in my house I have 7 systems running Windows 10 and the last time I had a failure is 5 years ago. Maybe your hardware is a little bit ancient and not very well suited to run Windows 10, but that is something you can't blame on Microsoft.
