Latest Stockfish-dev takes much longer than Stockfish-10 to find 20...Qg6!.

Stockfish-10:
info depth 29 seldepth 33 multipv 1 score cp -319 lowerbound nodes 30244620 nps 1924815 hashfull 999 tbhits 0 time 15713 pv d6g6

One now wonders if this change is the result of one particular change made since the release of Stockfish-10 ...

As expected, not due to a single commit. Already worse than Stockfish-10 by the end of April 2019.

i dont wanna talk away the problems SF has when it comes to sacrifices in terms of make kings naked but "my" latest SF ("Fix bench", Sun Jul 14 15:21:08 2019 +0200 by MC) finds Qg6 in about 13 seconds (tried 2 times) on an old APU 7870k-4 cores-CPU while SF10 needs much longer in this particular case...maybe just a compiler issue though or even pure luck ?

Perhaps multicore luck? The same Stockfish 140719 64 BMI2 needs here with 1 thread depth 37 and about 4 minutes to find Qg6.

All my searches were done with default settings: 1 thread (so, deterministic) and 16 MB hash. Otherwise, depths and node counts will vary widely.

Here's Stockfish-dev with 20 threads and 1 GB hash:

info depth 23 seldepth 41 multipv 1 score cp 391 nodes 53397964 nps 29698533 hashfull 339 tbhits 0 time 1798 pv d6g6 f1h1 h8h1 e1h1 c5e3 g2g1 e3b6 a2a4 a5b7 c2c3 c8c7 a4a5 b6a5 b2b4 a5b6 a1d1 b7d6

And now another search with the same parameters:

info depth 32 seldepth 51 multipv 1 score cp -405 lowerbound nodes 1020494832 nps 35707856 hashfull 1000 tbhits 0 time 28579 pv d6g6
