Testposition for participation on the wccc 2017.

Post by Thomas Lagershausen »

I have a recommendation for the ICGA.

Please take this position of yesterdays game of Aronian against Carlsen to make sure that the participating chesssoftware is at toplevel in the developments of computerchessprogramming.

[D]r1br2k1/1p1nqppp/p1p1pn2/3p4/1bPP4/PPN1PN2/2BB1PPP/R2Q1RK1 b - - 0 11 avoiding 11...Bxa3?

The correct move 11...Bd6 ! should be found under 3 minutes of search.

Thx for your attention.

SF regressed a lot on this one (avoiding Bxa3) : about 1 minute 2 years ago but more than 15 minutes now (6*4GHz).
SF has trouble to consider 12.Rxa3! on 11...Bxa3?

Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

SF has trouble to consider 12.Rxa3! on 11...Bxa3?

Is 11...Bxa3 actually a blunder? Carlsen played it and eventually lost, but the game is filled with bad blunders.

[EDIT] With Black's queen trapped in the corner, it seems that Bxa3 has to be bad ,,,

when i formerly analysed this position my conclusion was that Bxa3 ?! was not a loosing move...just an inferior move compared to Bd6 but i cant remember anymore how seriously my investigation was at this time...it was quite serious but not incredibly deep i think...anyways...my conclusion was : probably draw with Bxa3 !??
