But I wonder why Alliestein is NOT playing ? https://tcec-chess.com/

NOTE: They should use the same FRC Opening used by Carlsen Vs GM So to see how those engines handle those Openings
Do NOT worry and be happy, we all live a short life

TCEC has played a chess960 tournament before. The audience numbers did not meet their expectations, so they dropped it.

And they use now 256 cores! But only 128 for Ethereal and Fire. No support to higher value?

But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Why is that. FRC eliminates same openings over and over again.

I guess that the reason I am not interested is that I have not mastered regular chess yet to the degree I wish.
Fischer's aim was to create so many permutations for possibilities that the computers would lose the advantage of pre-prepared openings,
I think in reality it does the opposite. There is no way for a human to memorize that many permutations, but with high end hardware, it is possible for a chess system to do it. And modern hardware is so powerful that at tournament time control they can play great quality chess without a book.

If chess were to be solved my interest might move on to FRC or go. But I guess even then I would still prefer chess, because it is very unlikely that I would understand the solution

These continuous tournaments are boring. FRC brings variety here

I remember Gary Kasparov saying he was a chess player when asked about FRC. I took that to mean he wasn't interested in FRC.
