8 PCIE gen4 GPUs in an Epyc box

https://www.servethehome.com/gigabyte-s ... s-at-sc19/

See: "Gigabyte G482-Z51 PCIe Gen4 GPU Compute Server"
That thing looks to be the size of my 100Kg Ezekiel server
If I can find a place to configure one, I may not wait for TR 3990x
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

I notice it has3 2200 watt power supplies.
I imagine that they are redundant and it does not really pull 7KW.
At any rate, I would have to get my computer room wired for 220V, I am sure,

$4000 gets you 140 TB striped raid 5 storage,

with OS and apps on this 5GB/sec bad boy for $664:

About $30K could create THE ULTIMATE CHESS MACHINE

Logic says 2 live, with one hot swap.
8 gpus at 300 watts gives 2400w
2 CPUs at 280 watts, another 560w
Add Ram, Disk, Periperals, etc, makes the 4400 watts sound about right.
The equivalent of 4 steam irons, going full tilt.
