No, remember what my point was: fastest mates are useless, once the game is decided you have no reason to shorten the game.
Yes, I remember your point.

Do you remember mine?

Not really, did it have something to do with me getting faster hardware? I think you'll have to remind me your point when we play an actual game against each other and you can't play it at a higher level than me

Just what I thought. You don't have a clue what my point was!

Well, if all your opponents have to play 1.g4 I guess we'll never find out, will we?

So, let's play an "real" game and find out.

I was thinking about some hardware challenge, you get the white pieces, and if you beat me, I'll upgrade my damn hardware (because you'd have shown that it isn't enough to draw you.) I'd try my best to get the game into positions where my depth and methods suffice for a draw, you'd try to get the game into ones where they don't.

How does that sound? When do we start?

It's not going to make any difference to me if you upgrade your hardware or not. It doesn't cost me any time if you have slow hardware.

But, the truth is, you could do so much more with even a "cheap" modern system compared to what you have know. You're just TOO stubborn for your own good. Try it! You might EVEN like it. :D :D :D

What opening do you want to play?

If you do decide to upgrade and need help with anything ... I know a little about building PCs and EVEN how to build them for cheap if you're on a tight budget. Just PM me.

In real games we play move by move, you have to make a choice on the opening position about what is the first move that you can make that'd maximize the chances of achieving your objective, without having any idea of what defense I'm going to play against it. Then I make a choice about my defensive move, without having any idea about what attack you're going to play against it. And so on.

After the dust settles we get to see what opening we reached, instead of arranging to play an opening before the game starts. Let me know if you want me to create the game thread.
