When I'm 64 ....

Post by MikeB »

, in just a few days away, Honey-XI.1 will be release.

But not because of any mostrous Elo gain( maybe 7 Elo?), but simply a celebration of life and best wishes to all during these difficult times. Be well and be safe my friends.

I first heard this song in 1967 when it was written , 53 years ago, when I was 11. For Christmas '67 that year, I received the 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' album - which was very unique at the time - one of the first theme based albums by a rock and roll band.

(credited to Lennon–McCartney)
When I get older losing my hair
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me a Valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine

If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four

You'll be older too
And if you say the word
I could stay with you

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride
Doing the garden, digging the weeds
Who could ask for more

Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four

Every summer we can rent a cottage
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck and Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away

Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four

This was a great album and of course the unique album cover depicting infamous/famous figures on the cover and you could open it up and the lyrics to every song on the album were there. ALL of the songs were very good on this album but certain ones stand out to ME. This is also one of those groups that come out once in a century and that will never be replicated. Timeless, classic and great music. Like Led Zeppelin,Jimi Hendrix,The Doors,Black Sabbath,CCR,etc.

A1 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 2:02 ---- GREAT SONG
A2 With A Little Help From My Friends 2:44 ---- GREAT SONG
A3 Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds 3:28
A4 Getting Better 2:47 ---- GREAT SONG
A5 Fixing A Hole 2:37 ---- GREAT SONG - LOVELY,SENTIMENTAL SONG
A6 She's Leaving Home 3:23
A7 Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite ! 2:35
B1 Within You Without You 5:06
B2 When I'm Sixty-Four 2:38 ---- GREAT SONG -- OF COURSE
B3 Lovely Rita 2:44 ---- GREAT SONG
B4 Good Morning Good Morning 2:36 ---- GREAT SONG with the rooster starting off the song
B5 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) 1:19
B6 A Day In The Life 5:02 ---- GREAT SONG -- KIND OF A SAD SONG
"Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken." (Dune - 1984)

And so shalt though, Mike!

You're my sister's age, which is three years older then me, anyhow a good vintage for sure!
:)
And a great Hurray to the Beatles too!

Thanks or upcoming Honey and the wishes, shall they come true for all of us!
Peter.

Fine. By the time you will be in the high risk group the vaccine may have been invented.

It is so good to read a positive post!
