Toga III 0.1 NNUE released

Post by dkappe »

I hope no one minds my appropriation of the Toga III aspirational name. This is the first version, trained on 22m or so Toga II 4.01 d8 positions.

https://www.patreon.com/posts/toga-iii-0-1-39703574

I called a TKO on the 1+1 test match (no tb, natch).

Code: Select all

Score of TogaIII-0.1 vs TogaII: 25 - 0 - 2 [0.963] 27
I wonder if it has Toga II’s style. Below, vs Ethereal 12.04, 1+1 with TB. Let me know what you think.

Nice!
My only observation would be..maybe
SF-NNUE-Toga describes it better.

(the score reminds us that it is actually Stockfish playing! :D)

Which is more important, the eval or the search? I’ve had a chance to try it in another nnue enabled engine, and I’d say it plays about the same. So, I think the name is good as it stands.

Sorry for the trivial question but how do you load this .bin file into Chessbase GUI for example ?

You need a stockfish-nnue executable first.

To be fair the name should credit the entities behind both the search and eval.

So when it runs on stockfish it should be called toga stockfish, when it runs on Weiss it should be called toga Weiss, when it runs on Komodo it should be called toga Komodo? What a strange and wonderful world you live in. In the leela world we just refer to the network name.
