To beat the January blues, I want to make a video comparing the best GUIs for analysis of positions and openings.
Ideally these should offer analysis functions which go beyond clicking on an infinite analysis button, which we've had since the 1990s.
Any software or website is eligible, providing it brings something to the table.

What do they contribute to ANALYSIS, beyond infinite analysis?

There is more in this software.

There is infinite analysis in it with opening explorer. I believe storage of analysis in the cloud can also be a good criteria, there is a study feature in lichess and of course the 7-men table is available and free. But it is up to you. You must be clear with your criteria. Perhaps you list the criteria and rate them, from 1 to 10.

I would never subscribe, but for anyone who is an 'average' or less player, check out Decode Chess. That may be more to what you are looking for.

I've been a Scid user for prob 20 years, recently bought Fritz 17 and I'm just blown away. I'm sold on Chessbase now.

ChessBase is just essential IMO. Go ahead, pay the $$$, prepare to be hooked.

But for analysis, should also mention the Chess Cloud Database project: https://www.chessdb.cn/queryc_en/. Live book you can query, and you can submit positions for analysis.
