Hi there,

now the results from Round 01-02 out of 50 are online.
1.640 of 41.000 games played = 4%

And it is quite logical ... more material will be come!

:-)

Hi, Frank!
U am not sure that Texel 1.08a13 compile that I have is the best. Can you please share the version that plays in your Tournament?
Incredibly fast systems miscount incredibly fast.

Hi Angle,

I am using the version, can be found on Dropbox by the programmer.

Here my Engine links:
http://www.amateurschach.de/main/_engines.htm

And here my configuration for engines specified on my "Engine links"
http://www.amateurschach.de/main/_configuration.htm

Not a secret or a not available version of a chess program I am using.

Please try out, in one of your nice and next tournaments, the fast GullChess Sy version?!
Much stronger as all the other GullChess 3 versions, link can be also find here.

Texel is for me the: Unpredictable / uncontrollable engine.
Never an other engine can be sure that Texel suprised with a great combination.

A bit speculative, not such a speculative engine like Fizbo ... but speculative and often the games lost after a speculative combination later in endgames. But for looking the style of Texel is very fine. Programmer do a great job with Texel, not a secret also.

:-)

Best

Frank, thank you for the links!

There are two syzygy versions of Gull:
1) Gull 3 syzygy v0.4 by Basil Falcinelli
2) Gull 3.1 JV by J. M. Velasco
Which one do you recommend to test?

Gull is a bit strong for my nearest tournament but I will include it to another tourney which will start next week.
Or may be ... I will add it to the upcoming tourney. Let me think. I guess that Gull strength is close to the last versions of Arasan, Nirvana, and Wasp which are included.

Hi Angle,

Chess2u (fast compile 06/2016)
This version, link can be found in Chess2u forum, means I added the link to Chess2u forum in my overview.

Gull 3.1 JV have problems with Syzygy support after my quick test.

Around 25-30 Elo stronger as the official 3.0 version, tested with FCP-Tourney-2020 (the fast complie 06/2016).

Best

Thanks for the tournament! It came right in time for testing some new to come tools.

Here Minic stranglely could not win from this position and also converted both pawns in the most difficult winning endgame.
Lucky Halogen didn't waste any time anymore since being lost and played all moves since move 54 in 0 seconds.
And later it allowed a 50 moves draw while permanently showing mate scores with K,B.N vs. K.

Thanks for reporting.

Promoting to n+b is often seen from minic because KBNvK is declared winning while KQPK or KQBK is just a big material advantage if mate is not found immediately. No worries about that.

But not winning the KBNvK is a real issue of course. Today at CCC minic even draw a KRvK. I am working on the issue currently.

Hi Guenther,

and is disqualified after Round 03 of 50.
Reason: 3 times loses before mate in Round 03 out of 50.

The same problem I had in FCP Tourney-2020 and reported the bugs more times. 31 time loses after 2.000 games for Minic 2.33.
It' too bad for me if again and again Shredder GUI do nothing and 9 of 10 matches are still running if one of the engines not work correctly without ponder and without resign-mode. Analyzse is empty Shredder 13 GUI give me as last comment before engine do nothing.

All of the stats I must make again for round 1 and round 2.

Minic will replaced with Fritz 16 (Rybka). I don't like Rybka but I have not on other strong engine works correctly for the field. Beef and ChessBrainVB have the same problem Minic have.

Now I can do some other changes:

2. I will replace Stockfish 20201231 with the release version of Stockfish 12.
And here I am using CFish 12 (Stockfish in C-Language).
Some users asked for it.
3. I will replace Slow 2.4 with Slow 2.5
4. I will replace Marvin 4.0.1 with Marvin 5.0.

A lot of games are to replay.

Best
Frank

PS: Maybe the programmer of Minic can fix the bug for the next FCP Tourney, will be start in 6 months.
