It's worse than that, it simply doesn't support more than one processor, full stop. It will install on a dual core for example but the O/S will only see one core
This still doesn't explain why recent multi-threaded Glaurungs don't work in the ChessBase GUI under Win98. Even if it doesn't handle multiple processors, it certainly have to be able to handle multiple threads. Otherwise, Glaurung wouldn't have worked in Arena, which people claim that it does.

Your information does mean that my proposed solution of releasing a single-threaded Glaurung version for Win98 users should be good enough for everyone, though (apart for me, who will have to do slightly more work). Win98 wouldn't be able to take advantage of Glaurung's parallel search in any case.
