for some days I added Crab in the list of 175 engines.
https://www.amateurschach.de/main/_engines.htm

That is an engine by Jasper Shovelton, England
https://github.com/Beanie496/Crab/tags

In your REPO is the "old" v1.0
The current version is v4.6.3

Frome time to time Günther Simon created compiles:
The last compiles are v.4.4.0

That could be interesting too.

Hi Frank,

The Crab engine in my repo is a different engine. It is a Stockfish/Glaurung derivitive.

I will compile the latest Crab rust engine in a short while.

Hi Wilhelm,

I've compiled Skaki again with modern compiler - 32 bit and 64 bit builds.
I don't think it will run on Win98 now though.

Hi, Werner reported this also when using Arena. I will look into it. Werner said it works correctly in Shredder gui so some uci protocol problem in Arena.

Jim.
There are two possibilities, firstly arena is buggy or secondly shredder is more tolerant of errors

Hi Jim,
many thanks, it's working now. The VM with Win98 I only use to test the old 16bit engines. The old compile works without problems here so I use this.
