1). CM is perhaps the most famous chess program in the world, where does Hamsters suddenly come into the picture?!
Chessmaster is mostly known for its features and mainly designed to suit kids, it has never been the number 1 in engine rankings in the past 10 years as far as i know, chessmaster is good at teaching,features,pretty strong too but nowhere near in strength compared to Rybka, engines like Hamsters,Alaric,Movei could well overtake chessmaster in a few years strengthwise, they are not underrated unheard of engines anymore if you follow the ratings list ,things have changed much since the olden age.
