Games 2 and 4 clearly demonstrate that Gelfand thinks that he's the underdog in the match.
He seems to be perfectly happy to take fight-less draws with White.

Vishy could try to open with 1. c4 , then the next game with 1.e4, going for Scotch, King's Gambit or Cochrane Gambit, and then maybe with 1. Nf3, approaching some rare lines and putting his opponent into deep thinking, confusing him. Against 1. d4 maybe a KID would be a surprise or even a Volga Gambit. I hope Gelfand doesn't open with 1. e4. He seems very well-prepared against d4. Kasparov didn't switch e4 against Kramnik in time and eventually he lost the match. Best regards!

I don't know if the information is relevant here but Vishy was kibitzing in Computer Room of Playchess for weeks before this WCC 2012.
