Wow....Anand is definitely pissed off

I am not a world champion,but I do play the chess engines a lot and I've gained enough experience to participate in human tournaments,soon I hope....

So my point is that Anand has played a sequence of bad moves which I was really surprised to watch....he violated numerous basic principles of chess strategy during the middle game which made him an easy victim for Gelfand to squeeze to death....

Of course I am not underestimating Gelfand's master play....

he violated numerous basic principles of chess strategy during the middle game which made him an easy victim for Gelfand to squeeze to death....

here I disagree. In my eyes the trouble started with 21...Ne4 from an otherwise equal position, where you can't say that this move violates any basic principle. 21...Rxc2 might have been better but would that follow all principles? Even 23...g5 which might have been suboptimal does not really fall into that category, given also that the position was already difficult to play for black with the bad Bc8.

The only move for which I would agree to you was 25...f6, and that was probably bad enough to finally lose the game. I don't see any subsequent point in the game where black could have saved the game. 33...Rb1+ seems to lose faster than necessary but that does not matter in the end, as well as the fact that Gelfand missed a forced mate in 12 (we can forgive him, I believe ) with 37.Nd7 instead of 37.Ne5. In fact Ne5 was "better" since it forced Anand to resign one move later.

Well,maybe I went too far over my head here but this is how I evaluate the game....

Note that it's much easier to watch the game from the spectator's position than to actually set behind the chess board and play....

To sum things up,missing the opportunity on the C file and the bad 25....f6 move were the main nails that sealed the coffin of this game
