Some tidbits about the "ecoABCDE" database I just released:

The reason for splitting the database into 14 files is so that most users can view the games in a text editor. If the user wants just one file, he can use copy *.pgn newfile.pgn

All games in "ecoABCDE" have a minimum of 25 plies.

Each move in each game in "ecoABCDE" has been checked for chess legality. However there are plenty of human blunders in the games.

Results ending in a mate (checkmate or stalemate) were checked for accuracy and games with incorrect results were discarded.

The games in "ecoABCDE" have had their tags "stripped" to save file size. Values for "Event", "Site", "Round", and the month and day in "Date" have been replaced by a default "?" value. Elo tags were removed. Extra tags were removed.

Lines were formatted for full moves.
