People get serious. Ingo uses Shredder Classic GUI to play and display matches. He has been doing this for a long time. Nothing special. On a side note i think the engine is Komodo MP or Rybka. Most probably is Komodo.

I know, that could refer to the GUI, or it could refer to the new Shredder engine. We don't know either way.

No, it refers to the Shredder GUI.
If you open Booot's test page you can read Shredder there too: http://www.inwoba.de/Booot.html

Guys do you see the hint I posted?

I said something about "astronomical" price.

OK shredder is a good engine so I would be happy, had it been right. I think the author may have slowed down his involvement as we do not see a shredder for a long time till now.

Keep guessing guys!

...OK, got it !
You mean the $ 999 mistakenly quoted as the price of Komodo 5.1 MP.
So, you probably mean Komodo 5.1 MP.
Even then, going by what the others have posted here, according to the Test results, it seems to be marginally weaker than Houdini 3.
Looks to me that Houdini 3 is still King of the Hill, for some time to come !

What is this "Guess" engine tested right now on IPON? (See http://www.inwoba.de/Guess.html)

It is pretty strong, especially against the top engines.

I'm smelling a Houdini 3 clone but anyway, calling an engine Guess, if it's not a joke to hide the real name is pretty lame as with such a common word, I'm retrieving nothing from Google about a potential "Guess" chess engine. Anyone knows better?

Looks like it doesn't really matter what it is, as it seems to be getting its ass kicked by good ol' Houdini (at the time of posting this) !
So what, if it beats the other top Engines ?
Who cares about the second-best Engine ?

The "Guess" engine has been revealed in another thread as Komodo CCT with a different time management parameter. So not a new engine at all.
